I Love Bacons Essay's for their crispness and insight. This particular essay - "Of Studies" from his book Bacon's Essays: And Wisdom Of The Ancients ( https://amzn.to/2UpTb0F ) has stuck with me since I read it first in my college textbook. He has so nicely put his view on studies and explains how Studies help to enrich life for both enjoyment and practical purposes. However, he also believes that moderation is necessary for studies to be most useful. One shouldn't study so much that it distracts them from actually applying their studies and living.
